Location Collective, London’s leading agency that provides space for film production use, has secured an investment of £4.75m from the alternative lender BOOST&Co. The investment is expected to create several jobs within Location Collective and deliver 100’s of film production jobs to the borough of Enfield, as it will be used to help fund the development of the new OMA X Film Studios, London’s largest film studio.
The London-based company provides film locations and production space to the creative industries across the capital. Founded in 2007, Location Collective now owns two film studios (OMA Film Studios and OMA X Film Studios) and works with its property owner clients and film industry customers to facilitate all types of filming hire across the sites it represents.
Earlier this year the firm celebrated the opening of the new studio, OMA X Film Studios, which is a 10-acre facility housing six vast sound stages. The business has now secured an arrangement with a global content creator, spanning multiple years, to produce feature films and high-end television at the facility.
BOOST&Co has chosen to work with Location Collective due to the firm’s extensive experience in the TMT (technology, media and telecommunications) sector in which Location Collective operates. The lender was also excited by the nature of the funding request and identified Location Collective as an innovative and fast-growing business.
Ryan Sorby, head of the north and Scotland at BOOST&Co, says: “This was a fascinating deal to work on. Antony and his team at Location Collective have built up an amazing reputation in the sector to deliver high quality space to studios and content makers.
“The success at OMA has now been repeated with a phenomenal site at OMA X, attracting the attention of the industry heavyweights. The completion of OMA X coincides with the long-term leasing of the site to a global streamer, proving how attractive an asset it really is.”
Antony Iredale, the managing director at Location Collective, says: “The team at BOOST&Co have worked closely with us on our funding plans and have supported us through the acquisition and development of our new site, OMA X Film Studios.
“With the help of this funding, we can now further serve our film industry customers, providing the space they need as well as making a major contribution towards London being the most film friendly city on the planet, in line with our company mission.
“BOOST&Co had the necessary understanding of our sector and provided thorough support and a personal service throughout the entire funding process. Without doubt, the deal will support us in our next stage of growth and will help provide even more opportunity for new people to join our growing team.”
