Founded in 2008, BaseKit – the Bristol-based provider of website building and editing software – has secured £2.5 million in growth capital funding from BOOST&Co. Available in 20 languages, BaseKit is the most widely deployed website editor by hosting, telco and internet companies; and delivers websites for the SMB and consumer markets.
Led by CEO Simon Best, BaseKit has invested significantly in product development for the mobile and consumer markets, while streamlining its SMB offering. The growth capital provided by BOOST&Co will enable the company to take new products to market and realise its growth strategy.
“I am pleased and excited to enter this working relationship with BOOST&Co. We are at a critical growth stage and this funding will allow the BaseKit team to implement its vision for the future,” says Best.
BaseKit is distributed by 120 partners in the hosting and telco sector, and provides their customers with the ability to build business sites that include e-commerce, blog, map, social media widget, and contact form capabilities. Collaborating with over 100 partners, more than 8 million sites run on BaseKit.
Says Joanna Scott, principal at BOOST&Co, “BOOST&Co has extensive experience in the SaaS sector, with a third of our portfolio consisting of companies in this market. We knew that BaseKit would make a great addition to our portfolio and that we would be able to offer them assistance that goes beyond funding.”
